At 8.5 months, grandma bought Naomi a walker that plays music and she loves that toy. I dare say it is one of her favorite things to play with everyday. She plopped herself up on it and started pushing the walker and walking along with it. It was a very proud parent moment and my whole family was there to witness it and cheer her on which led her to continue walking. Ma says that Naomi will be walking by the time we head to OKC for Thanksgiving, but we shall see!
Now at 9.5 months, Naomi is getting into every thing. She likes pulling things out of our drawers. We keep the Keurig Kcups in one or a few of the drawers that she digs into, and every now and then she looks at me with a huge smile on her face with coffee grind around her mouth.
She’s so adorable to me. I love her to pieces. She gets into her lovey mood sometimes and will grab my face with both her hands and open her mouth to plant a kiss on me. It’s a wet slobbery kiss, but it’s so sweet!
She’s certainly very verbal and babbles, even yells sometimes. I can see her tongue try to make the L sounds as in “blah. la.” She says dada and hi and waves her hand bye bye and claps her hands when she hears music or when other people are clapping.
Sports on TV captivates her attention, and I’m sure that makes Daddy proud.
I remember when she was itty bitty and I felt sad that Chris would come home and not immediately run to see her or hold her. At the time, I couldn’t imagine anyone not wanting to hold Naomi and cuddle with the bundle of cuteness. She was a good baby too! Hardly cried, very inquisitive and liked to stare a lot. I worried that Chris didn’t feel a connection to Naomi because I had it right from day 1. But that changed as she got older and more interactive. Chris became more interactive with her as well. And now when I see the two of them playing together, it really melts my heart and overwhelms it with immense joy.
Our family of 3 will soon turn to 4 as we expect little Beau McJames Major in early Feb. I’m sure Naomi will adore her little brother. She likes other babies and she’ll only be 14 months when Beau comes long. She’ll be a little too young to understand sibling jealousy. If anything I think she’ll exhibit more curious behavior and definitely want to play with her little brother and wonder why he’s not really playing back. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.
