2 Baby Bears

My little Beau bear is 6 weeks old. That first month came and went so fast! Im probably still getting just as little sleep as I did with Naomi if not less, but I don’t feel as wiped out as I did. You’d think with two kids that I’d feel even MORE tired, but thats not the case.

Beau is definitely a different baby than Naomi was. This little guy likes to cry, cry, cry. And not to the point of colic, but normal baby cry. He doesn’t like to be awake unless I’m nursing him and then 10 mins immediately afterwards, he’s drunk off milk.  And when I think about it, Naomi really never cried.

Naomi did cry her heart out in the carseat though. And Beau does not mind it at all. In fact, I think he likes it a lot. He can sleep so well in it, during car rides, stroller, or in it on top of a table. He gets his best sleep in it. So we brought the carseat and set it on the table ( so Naomi can’t reach him) and he naps in it now cause he does better in that than his crib or swing or bouncer.

And Beau is a great sleeper, in that he sleeps a lot, and is awake very less. Naomi was more alert and awake longer than he. She could be awake and chill and just look around, quietly. Not Beau…

I wonder if this is typical 6 week old, and Naomi was atypically calm and awake a lot.

In other news, Naomi is about 15 months, and still loves her brother and plants kisses on him and asks to get “up” so she could kiss him. Of course she also likes to poke him in the eye while she’s up there.

Her vocabulary has grown. She now also says shoes, done, down (although both sound very similar), please (and signs it simultaneously) more (when she wants something, anything) thank you, apple, out. She’s also walking Chloe now. Chris caught a video of her doing it and it’s so cute.

She is throwing tantrums when she doesn’t get her way, but whats new, right? She was gently throwing herself on the ground, head to the floor and all. She did this for maybe a month and hasn’t really done it since. She just whines and cries/scream now.

She’s still wanting me to carry her when I’m already carrying Beau. I don’t think it’s a jealousy issue, but probably more that she wants to be with both of us and not want to feel left out. She whiles a little and when I look down at her she says, “up!” So cute.

Chris met a family down at the beach shack and we’ve been hanging out with them down there while our kids play in the sand. It’s really a great set up, this beach living. Well, now that Naomi is able to enjoy it . She loves being out there, and its easy cause there are swings, sand and food. And it’s convenient for us.

Too bad, it won’t be for much longer. We are so done living in this small space. Time to house hunt.
