Good Ole Miss

When you have two lap babies chances are, you will not get to sit altogether. Reason I was told, was because they couldn’t accommodate everyone with oxygen in case of emergency. So I sat with Beau, and Chris had Naomi. And because there was a screw up with my ticket, they bumped me up to business class. Luckily, there was no on else sitting with me so I kindly asked the stewardess if my husband and daughter could move up to sit with me, and she granted me that. Naomi was overly excited about being on an airplane, she did not sleep. She was up most of the flight except the last hour. And prior to her falling asleep, she threw a tantrum which pissed over the crack head whore behind us. The crackhead was cursing and showed not an once of effort to restrain her annoyance. I was almost going to turn around and go ape shit on her. Mama bear in full force. You learn to contain your anger when you have little ones with you. It’s probably a good thing.

Remember when having wifi inflight was a huge perk? None of those perks matter when you have young kids. Chris and I didn’t even get to nap. Needless to say, we were beyond exhausted once we landed. Pop pop picked us up at 630 am their time. And went to work after her dropped us off. I said my “hellos” and went upstairs to sleep. I was out for about 3 hours. Chris was playing in the pool with Naomi and then afterwards he played golf with his pop and Matt. He always finds energy even when you think none is left. He’s amazing.

Naomi had a blast visiting them. She’s at a very fun age right now. Mimi took great care of her. She quickly attached herself to Mimi and Auntie Kelly. She loved taking PJ out with Auntie. And she loved being around her cousins, Maya and Sawyer.

Despite how disgustingly hot it was outside, Naomi never complained a peep! She was such a trooper. Beau was great too! We all slept in the same room with two pack n plays.  It worked out very well!

We drove out to Memphis twice. I can say for myself that I don’t ever need to go onto Beale St. again. There’s really nothing there for me. BBQ sucks, the crowd is drunk, and its just not my scene, especially when I’m there with my kids. It’s so over rated.

The flight back was exhausting with Beau. I was not so lucky this time around. I had the middle seat in between two men. I had to breastfeed in such tight quarters and even more tight when the lady in front fully reclined . I thought to myself, I would never do that, especially when there is a baby in his mother’s arms behind me. I don’t get how people are inconsiderate.  It really baffles me. Anyway, Beau was kicking the man to my right while I breastfed and pulling on their shirts when he was standing. Plus he’s gotten so loud these days. Not crying, just having fun with his newfound voice.

All in all, it was a relaxing time out. It’s always nice to go back to the countryside every now and then. I did come back with  a renewed love for the strand. It was so beautiful when we came back. It’s always good to come home.
